SFS Students Attend Awareness Program on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

On June 26, 2025, students from SFS College, accompanied by Mr. Ravichandran and Mr. Arun Johnson Branco, participated in the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking program held at the DC Office premises in Tamaka, Kolar.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among teenagers and featured video clips showcasing the effects of drug and alcohol consumption on health, inaugurated by Dr. M.R. Ravi, IAS, District Commissioner of Kolar. The audience, including SFS students, took an oath to refrain from substance abuse.

Chief guests, including Dr. M.R. Ravi, IAS, Sri. Nikhil B., IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kolar, Dr. Praveen Bagawadi, CEO, ZP Kolar, and Mrs. Sarina, DFO, emphasized the importance of maintaining good health and highlighted the side effects of drug consumption. They also discussed the legal consequences of illegal drug marketing.

The police department with the help of District administration Officers announced plans to establish Anti-Drug Force committees in schools and colleges to promote awareness among students. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Suresh from the Police Department.

The event provided SFS students with valuable insights into the importance of health and life, and the need to stay away from substance abuse.
