St. Francis De Sales College Students Embark on Enriching Excursion to Coorg and Kodaikanal

St. Francis De Sales College successfully organized a two-day educational and recreational excursion for its students to the picturesque destinations of Coorg, Karnataka, and Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu. A total of 300 students, accompanied by college staff, participated in the trip across three batches in December, fostering camaraderie and providing a unique learning experience outside the classroom.

The first batch explored from December 10th to 13th, followed by the second from December 11th to 13th, and a final group from December 19th to 21st. The itinerary was packed with cultural and historical landmarks, offering students a comprehensive tour of the regions.

In Coorg, students visited:
-Talakaveri: The source of the River Kaveri.
- Bhagamandala: A sacred pilgrimage site.
- Abbey Falls: A stunning natural waterfall.
- Raja's Seat:A scenic viewpoint with panoramic vistas.
- Harangi Dam: A significant reservoir.
- Dubare Elephant Camp: Where students enjoyed interaction with elephants and boating.
- Kaveri Nisargadhama: A beautiful island formed by the river.
- Tibetan Golden Temple: A serene and culturally rich monastery.

The journey continued to Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, where the group explored:
- Pine Forest: Offering serene walks amidst tall trees.
- Guna Caves: A mysterious geological formation.
- Pillar Rocks: Iconic natural rock formations.
- Dolphin's Nose:A popular viewpoint with breathtaking scenery.
- Kodaikanal Lake: A star-shaped artificial lake for recreation.

Accommodation was arranged at a nearby lodge where students and staff shared dinners, strengthening bonds in an informal setting. The excursion was lauded as a resounding success, achieving its objective of promoting teamwork and personal growth while providing invaluable exposure to India's diverse heritage. All participants returned safely, enriched by the memorable experience.
