The World Day Against Child Labour was observed with great enthusiasm on June 12, 2025 at Chennaya Rangamandir, Old Bus Stand, Kolar. The program, themed "Progress is clear! But there's more to do. Let's speed up efforts," brought together students and lecturers from various colleges, including SFS College, accompanied by Mr. Ravikumar and Mr. Arun Johnson Branco.
The event, hosted by Mrs. Manjula, featured insightful sessions and discussions on the issue of child labour. Officer Shruthi K. raised awareness about the plight of child labourers, while Ms. Vara Lakshmi took an oath to combat child labour. Mr. Nateesha, the newly appointed judge, highlighted the legal framework surrounding child labour, emphasizing Article 24, which prohibits children under 14 from working.
Munne Gowda, President of the Lawyer's Association, stressed the importance of protecting children's rights for the nation's future. Lakshmi Prasanna Kumar added that today's children are the citizens of tommorow deserving of protection and nurturing.
The program also included entertaining segments, such as singing and mimicry, to engage the students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving a lasting impact on the attendees.
The awareness program served as a reminder of the need for collective action to eliminate child labour and ensure a brighter future for all children.
