International Yoga Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm and Devotion

On the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, a grand celebration was held, bringing together all the Commerce staff and students. The event was organized with the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health," highlighting the interconnectedness of human well-being and the planet's health.

The program commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Farah, followed by a soulful prayer song by Ms. Inchar, a student of I Commerce, which set a serene tone for the event. The traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony symbolized the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Principal Rev. Fr. Joseph Thoppil delivered a thought-provoking presidential address, emphasizing the significance of yoga in modern life.

The highlight of the event was a practical yoga session led by the Chief Guest, PT Sir Mr. Joseph VJ, a seasoned ex-army personnel with extensive experience. Participants enthusiastically followed the simple yet powerful yoga poses and breathing exercises, reaping the benefits of this ancient practice. Ms. Inchara also showcased her yoga talent during the event.

Throughout the event, participants demonstrated their commitment to the cause, and the sense of community was appreciable. Mr. Arun Johnson Branco, Economics Lecturer, efficiently handled the program as the Master of Ceremonies. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Varsha, expressing gratitude to all involved in making the event a success.

In conclusion, the International Yoga Day celebration was a resounding success, inspiring participants to incorporate yoga into their daily lives. As the event came to a close, attendees departed with a renewed sense of purpose, embracing the spirit of "One Earth, One Health."
